DOING MY PART
Today's reading: 1 Kings 16-18
"Then the Lord said to Elijah, Go and live in the village of Zarepath, near the city of Sidon. There is a widow there who will feed you. I have given her my instructions." 1 Kings 17:8-9 NLT
This is for the person to whom God has spoken...
For the person who God has asked to do something special...
The guy or gal who is being led by God to step out and do a work for the Lord...
The kind of work that scares them.
The kind of step that takes a lot of faith.
The kind of request that is going to look, to the world, like the workings of a religious nut.
The kind of thing that seems impossible.
The kind of obedience that when followed through will seemingly only make a small dent in the big problem.
Have Elijah-sized faith.
Believe like Elijah did when he packed up his little tent there by the brook and moved into the town of Zarepath.
Have enough confidence to leave your 'ravens of replenishment' behind.
Move on to the next miracle.
Trust the Lord with what He has asked you to do--and that the next person will do the same.
You see, God asked Elijah to do his part. God asked the widow to do her part. And, friend, God is asking you to do your part. Only your part, no one else's.
