JUST A SIMPLE THING
Today's reading: 2 Kings 2-3, Acts 5:12-28, Psalm 99

"But this is only a simple thing for the Lord,..." 2 Kings 3:18 NLT

The prophecy Elisha shared with the three kings was something that left them scratching their heads in wonder.

How in the world?

Is that even possible?

Really?

Elisha knew their doubts and reassured them with the words in today's verse.

"But this is only a simple thing for the Lord,.."

You can borrow them, you know.

When your circumstance leaves your stomach tied up in knots.

When your problem shadows all your efforts.

When your best efforts leave you emptier.

When the words of friends hurt.

When your prayers seem to hit the ceiling and bounce back.

You can remind yourself that whatever the size of the need, whatever the scope of the miracle desired, whatever the enormity of the problem you've found yourself in--it's a small thing for the Lord.
