JUST TO MEET HIM
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 28-29, John 7:25-8:11, Psalm 83

"The Temple guards who had been sent to arrest him returned to the leading priests and Pharisees. Why didn't you bring him in? they demanded. We have never heard anyone talk like this! the guards responded." John 7:45-46 NLT

I'm going to wager a guess here and say the religious leaders did not send their 'new-to-the-force' soldiers to pick up Jesus. It's doubtful they sent the 'office guys' out for a mission of this magnitude.

I'm going to say they sent their 'Navy SEAL' team out to handle this matter quietly and quickly. Fellas who were hard-core, sold-out and on-point for a project of this nature.

They went out.

They found the 'target'.

They surveyed the situation and planned for a clandestine extraction.

They listened to what this 'Opponent of the Church' had to say.

And...they couldn't arrest Him. They couldn't bring Him in.

These men heard the Word of God spoken by the Son of God and were changed by God.

I'm not so sure they didn't lose their jobs over this...but didn't they gain SO much more?
