DISASTER
Today's reading: Proverbs 9-12

"Disaster strikes like a cyclone, whirling the wicked away, but the godly have a lasting foundation." Proverbs 10:25 NLT

Disaster-a sudden calamitous event bringing great damage, loss or destruction; a sudden or great misfortune.

One of my favorite quotes, who the credit goes to is a mystery to me, goes something like this...

As you stand on the shore of the sea. As the storms of life shift the sands beneath your feet inch by inch. As the beautiful beach erodes before your very eyes, you'll see it--the solid rock upon which all the sands were resting on.

Isn't that true?

Whether it's dirt, sand or a pillar of accomplishments, they all rest on the bedrock of earth. Even the deepest oceans, if they were to become dried up, have a foundation of rock.

As is our faith!

When the cyclone takes all we thought was safe, secure and lasting, we are left with the Rock.

And the Rock you stand on is secure enough for whatever the storm brings.
