AVOIDED
Today's reading: Proverbs 16-17

"Unfailing love and faithfulness cover sin; evil is avoided by fear of the Lord." Proverbs 16:6 NLT

Avoided-to have kept away from; to prevent the occurrence or effectiveness of; to have refrained from.

I've been thinking this morning...

I don't know of a single evil I've ever committed that was forced on me by another person.

I cannot place blame.

I cannot point fingers.

I cannot divert guilt to another.

It's been up to me.

Only me.

And according to this verse, it's because I don't fear the Lord.

I don't consider Him to be Who He says He is.

I don't believe, wholeheartedly, how very much He hates sin.

I don't avoid, a personal act, the evils that separate me from Him.

And...I don't think I'm the only one.
