PRESENCE
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 13-15
"But the king gave this order: Absalom may go to his own house, but he must never come into my presence. So Absalom did not see the king." 2 Samuel 14:24 NLT
Presence-the part of space within one's immediate vicinity; company.
God,
As I think of the strained relationship David and Absalom had, I'm ever so grateful for your grace, mercy and love!
You could have easily forgiven me of my sins, promised me a home in heaven--but refused me Your presence because of my filth.
But You didn't!
You could have easily have wiped my slate of sins clean, removed from me all desire to turn from Your way and wired me to follow You and You alone--but choose to never allow me to spend one on one time with You.
But You didn't!
You could have easily looked into my future and see the times I would stumble, fall and refuse to get up and still love me--but choose to keep me at a distance because of my unholy mess.
But You didn't!
You have invited me into Your presence. You have urged me to come. You have drawn me and woo-ed me into Your company.
Thank You, Lord and Savior and Friend!
