WHEN WE PROSPER
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 29-31
"For I will bring them into the land I swore to give their ancestors--a land flowing with milk and honey. There they will become prosperous; they will eat all the food they want and become well nourished. Then they will begin to worship other gods; they will despise me and break my covenant." Deuteronomy 31:20 NLT
I know you're not enjoying these tough, lean valley times.
They make you weary. They stretch your faith thinner than you'd like.
You feel very alone. Very afraid. Very dependent.
But you're closer to God now than you've ever been, aren't you?
Tough times have a way of clearing out the static and allowing us to focus on one main thing--God.
It's when things go well, we have plenty, we sit and count our prizes and we're feeling mighty independent that we wander from Him.
