Today's reading: Psalm 140-142
"Surely the godly are praising your name, for they will live in your presence." Psalm 140:13 NLT
'Surely', an adjective used to emphasize the speaker's firm belief that what they are saying is true and that they would be utterly surprised that anyone would doubt it. A word used to denote confidence and assurance in what is being spoken.
David believes and states here that he knows without a doubt that God's people are full of praise.
Would he be surprised to find that's not always the case?
Might he roll over in his grave to hear of the grumblings, squabbles and doubt that fills the minds of some Christians?
Because it does.
Praise is not always our first response, now is it?
