STAYING OUT OF TRAPS
Today's reading: Proverbs 29-30

One can wear one's self out attempting to please people.

Their expectations change.

Their opinions waver.

Their morals are usually solely based upon what they are okaying in their own hearts.

Take our current political race.

How in the world might any candidate please all 387.6 million of us?

Our best bet, any candidate's best bet, is to extricate ourselves from the trap of attempting to please people and give our 100% to pleasing God.

My, oh my, wouldn't this election be a much easier pill to swallow if we were to be allowed the opportunity to choose between a few God-pleasing folks?

Wouldn't life be much easier, on all of us, if pleasing God were our first order of business every morning as we awoke?
