HE WILL GIVE IT
Today's reading: 2 Chronicles 1-5

"That night God appeared to Solomon in a dream and said, What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!" 2 Chronicles 1:7 NLT

What I've noticed this morning in this verse--

God speaks directly. To Solomon. To His children. To me. To you.

He seeks to know the desires of our hearts. It's no trick question. He already knows, but allows us to verbalize our dreams. He gives us a stage on which to uncover our deepest darkest desires.

He asks us to ask. He gives permission. He grants us a opportunity. He says, in a nutshell, Go ahead.

He says He will give it. His words, no one else's. From His unlimited resources. Not from our own. 

He ended the sentence with an exclamation point! He's excited. He anticipates great things. He cannot wait to answer our requests.

This single verse excites me and renews me. It jump starts my prayer life for the day.

Oh, what a gracious God we serve!
