HE HAD HEARD
Today's reading: Mark 11-12

"They said what Jesus had told them to say, and they were permitted to take it." Mark 11:6 NLT

Setting the scene:

Jesus is on the Mount of Olives. He has sent two of his disciples across the valley to the edge of Jerusalem to procure a young donkey. From a stranger. At a time when the city was overrun with visitors for a special season.

Here's what I believe...

-The man had to have heard about Jesus.

-The man had to have heard good things about Jesus.

-The man had to have heard good things about Jesus and he wanted in on what he had heard.

-The man had to have heard good things about Jesus and he wanted in on it so badly that he was willing to hand over his prized possession.

-The man, I don't know how or when, had to have been blessed by his act of obedience.

-The man was led by God to act and react in a way that allowed for Jesus to ride into Jerusalem on a beast symbolizing kingship.

-The man is now recognized as a servant of God, by his simple act.

From what I have read, I can believe that if God leads me to speak to someone--stranger or not, there is a great probability that He has already begun working in their heart.

So, I needn't be afraid.
