THE NIGHT SKY
Today's reading: Psalm 6-8
"When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers--the moon and the stars you have set in place--what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us." Psalm 8:3-4 NLT
I've seen God.
As early as I've gotten up, I've seen Him.
From my worn, comfortable prayer chair, I've seen Him.
As I look out the front door onto our prairie and the night sky that is sparkling with stars--stars He has set in place, shined to a brilliance, named and ordered to be in the section of the universe that I can see from my spot, I've seen Him.
I see Him in the sliver of moon that's still shining in the clear sky. It's a curving smile. I see Him.
Moon and stars set on the backdrop of a black sky. Like jewels in a showcase. Treasures displayed. Creations to be admired. Craftsmanship.
And He thought enough of me to allow it.
Me. Me! Me?
Who am I that He would think to do all that, and so much more, for me?
