Today's reading: Genesis 12-15
"Afterward the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great." Genesis 15:1 NLT
What is a 'reward'? According to Merriam Webster...
- 1: something that is given in return for good or evil done or received or that is offered or given for some service or attainment
reward for his capture>
2: a stimulus administered to an organism following a correct or desired response that increases the probability of occurrence of the response
I believe there is no better choice of a word when it comes to the benefit we receive from serving God with our hearts and lives.
The gift given for service rendered to His Kingdom.
The goal set for us to make it through this life.
The prize that keeps us going towards the finish line.
The bounty exceeding our hopes and dreams.
The award given for a job well done, not necessarily a job done perfectly.
For a faithful, God honoring Christian, our reward is great. Greater than we can imagine. Greater than we can hope.
