IS IT?
Today's reading:  Jonah

"The Lord replied, Is it right for you to be angry about this?"  Jonah 4:4 NLT

I can see him pouting.

Sitting cross-legged under that scruffy-looking bush.

Watching the excitement from afar.  The celebrations of salvation.  The excitement about redemption.  The shouts of joy because mercy had been given.  He sees on the faces of people a new kind of grace.

And he is mad.

He is embarrassed.

He feels like he's been used...and not in a glorifying way.

God notices.

So he asks, Is it right for you to be angry about this, Jonah?  Really, is it?  With all that I've done--is anger the correct response?

And He asks me the same thing...

When my plans are thwarted.

When He uses me to begin a project, but not to be the one to bring it about to completion.

When someone else receives the glory.

When I question His timing.

When my way would have been so much nicer.

Yes, He asks me, too.

Does He ask you the same question?
