GROWING UP WITH GOD
Today's reading:  1 Samuel 1-5

"...The boy Samuel stayed at the sanctuary and grew up with God."  1 Samuel 2:21 MSG

That's what I want for our boy.

To 'grow up' with God.  To know Him intimately.  To always feel His presence.  To experience Him every day of His life.

I don't want God to be a distant relative who shows up on various holidays.

I don't want God to be a long-lost uncle who has him written into his will.

I don't want God to be a step-father who doesn't accept him wholly and lovingly.

I don't want there to be any doubt, any doubt what so ever, that God is for him and not against him.

I don't want God to wait until his adulthood to introduce Himself to my son.

I want Him to be known now.  I want Him to be permanently residing in his heart.  I want there to be a relationship developing on a day by day and a moment by moment basis.

I want our boy to know Him like I know Him!
