WHAT JOY!
Today's reading: Matthew 1-2
"It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star they were filled with joy!" Matthew 2:9-10 NLT
If the wise men thought they were filled with joy at the sight of the star, just wait until they stepped through the doors of the house (or walked through the opening of the stable, whichever your choice) and saw the Christ-child.
What exactly exceeds joy?
What's it called when your anticipation is rewarded ten thousand times over?
What's it called when realization surpasses your wildest dreams?
What's it called when your dedication is compensated by more than you could have ever hoped and could possibly deserve?
What's the reaction called when you look into the eyes of your Savior? The Author and Finisher of your faith? The Creator? The Son of God? The Hope of the world? The fulfilled Promise?
Joy seems to be a limited word for such a time as this...don't you think?
