LAMENTING
Today's reading: Lamentations
I'll admit, my daily Bible time was a little less than encouraging this morning. I mean, Lamentations? Tears. Grieving. Mourning. Sorrow.
Uggh. I have to say, I was wanting something a little more spirit-lifting.
And then God, in His goodness, reminded me that at times we need to be reminded of just how bad it could be!
As His children we suffer. That being said, our suffering, on its worst days, is not as bad as it might be if we were to choose to step outside His will--as did Jerusalem at the time of Jeremiah's writings.
We have the safety of His wings to run to, if we so choose.
We have His tower of strength and protection, if we so choose to run to it.
We have His promises to lean on, if we choose to listen and believe Him.
We have the promise of eternal life, if we choose to accept it.
Maybe Lamentations was just what I needed to read this morning!
