How do you view sin?

How we define, tolerate and classify sins directly relate to how we view the works of the Cross.

Sin is not just a mistake.

Sins are not just slip-ups.

Sin is not just a blemish on a normally perfect record.

Sin is black. Sin is smelly. Sin is contagious. Sin is a blockage-between our hearts and God's. Sin is entangling. Sin is what made Christ go to the cross so our relationship with a Holy God could be possible.

Sin is serious business, business we have been sugar-coating, ignoring in hopes to be tolerant and loving to all. Sin has eternal consequence, heaven or hell. Sin has an odor that permeates our lives, the lives of our families and the health of our churches.

Sin must be dealt with through Christ's blood.
