FOREVER
Today's reading: Lamentations
"For the Lord does not abandon anyone forever." Lamentations 3:31
How do those words make you feel?
Are you encouraged to know that this tough time you're going through, this time when God seems so very far away, will not last forever? Is your spirit lifted, your peace bolstered, are you given new strength? Does it give you a renewed determination to see the rainbow at the end of your storm?
Are you filled with peace to know that your prodigal has not been written off by the Savior? However far they choose to wander, despite the number of pig pens they choose to frequent, regardless of their current disregard for how they were raised--He will confront them and they will know again how very much God loves them. Will that knowledge stir you to continue praying?
Are you convicted to know that although He's allowing you to wander away from His commands and purposes for your life, one day He will bring you back around to His plans, His ways, His path? You don't really think He's allowing you to live in sin, wallow in ungodliness and live unrighteously without consequences--do you?
How do God's Words make you feel when you are faced with the truth of them?
