BLESSED

Today's reading: Isaiah 56-61

"...blessed are those who keep themselves from doing wrong." Isaiah 56:2 NLT

One might say, Yes, Lord--we know that.

We are fully aware that You bless those who keep from doing wrong. From sinning. From putting our selfish needs above those of God's commands.

But do we?

Do we really?

Do our lives exhibit our true knowledge of this statement of faith?

Are we choosing His blessings over our desires?

Are we choosing to receive from Him rewards for sacrificing ourselves?

Are we choosing Him over our wants?

So, in all reality, we do know this verse--we just seldom live it out.

Starting today, I'm planning on memorizing these words. I'm writing them out. Posting them around me. Asking God to bring them to my remembrance. I plan on living them out instead of just knowing them.
