WEARYING THE LORD

Today's reading: Malachi

"You have wearied the Lord with your words..." Malachi 2:17 NLT

While Malachi was written to the priests of Israel, in regards to their neglectful worship--might his words also apply to us today?

The prophet told the people that they were 'flat wearing out the Lord' with their words.

The vows they took.

The promises the made.

The oaths they spoke.

The words wore God out, because He saw no follow through!

He saw their lips moving, heard the words they spoke, but saw little to no action.

It's surely made me think.

I can say all the right things...

I can quote the Bible verses...

I can testify...

But am I doing what I say I will do?

Am I following the Lord's commands?

Am I  honoring Him with my actions--or merely wearying Him with my words?
