HIGHER THAN THIS

Today's reading: Psalm 57-59

"For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds." Psalm 57:10 NLT

I've quit watching the news.

It's discouraging. It's depressing. It's difficult to swallow.

Problems are big. Unease is palpable. The potholes seem to be awfully deep our country has fallen into. Sin runs rampant--not just in the streets or in our hallowed halls of justice, but in our hearts.

I have to remind myself often of the truth of today's verse.

That God is bigger.

That God's love exceeds our depravity.

That His faithfulness has proved itself over and over and over.

And that encourages me. It lifts my spirit. It brings a smile back to my lips and a song back to my heart.
