FOCUS

Today's reading: Acts 7-8

"But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily upward into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God's right hand." Acts 7:56 NLT

Stephen, mere moments from death, chose to keep his eyes focused on God--despite his circumstances.

He, with purposed intent, looked past his tormenters into the glory of heaven, the steadfastness of God and the living Christ.

What an example for us to follow!

We cannot be looking around at the situations we find ourselves in.

We cannot be looking backwards at past mistakes or ancient history.

We cannot look forward to brighter days, easier nights and rosier paths.

We have to look heavenward.

We have to keep our focus on what was, God, what is, God, what is to come, God!
