BLESSINGS OR CURSES
Today's reading: Deuteronomy 28-29
"If you fully obey the Lord your God by keeping all the commands I am giving you today, the Lord your God will exalt you above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:.." Deuteronomy 28:1-2 NLT
"But if you refuse to listen to the Lord your God and do not obey all the command and laws I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overwhelm you." Deuteronomy 28:15 NLT
I don't know what your day holds, but I urge you, I implore you, to take the time to read over Deuteronomy chapter 28.
Sure it was written in an ancient time.
It's words are spoken to a race of folks we have no genetic attachment to.
At first reading, it contains informative tidbits that lend little application to our day-to-day walk in the 21st century.
But when you slow down and read it. When you remember it was written about the Israelites in order that we might grow and prosper and succeed, it will take on a whole new meaning.
It offers us a choice between blessings or curses.
Obedience or disobedience.
Life or death.
That is quite applicable to today!
