RUNNING TOWARDS HIM
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 17, John 5:1-24, Psalm 79:8-13
"As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him." 1 Samuel 17:48 NLT
I don't know about you, but running towards my enemy does not come naturally to me.
Away from, yes.
Hiding from, yes.
Running towards, heavens, no!
But maybe I should.
Like David.
With the power of the Living God inside me.
With His promises fueling me.
With the Holy Spirit guiding me.
With the knowledge in my heart and mind that my God is stronger, much, much stronger, than my enemy.
Wouldn't that surprise him?
Wouldn't that catch him off guard?
Wouldn't that thwart his plans?
Wouldn't that leave him wondering what to do next?
I think I might try it--just to see what he will do. After all, he has no new tricks up his sleeves, no new snarky condemnations to hurl at me, no good ideas in how he can defeat this daughter of the King!
