CORNERSTONE
Today's reading: Isaiah 26-28

"Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says, Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem. It is firm, a tested precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never run away again." Isaiah 28:16 NLT

Cornerstone-a  stone forming a part of a corner or angle in a wall; a basis element.

You've heard of the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.

You've seen ads for toothpastes recommended by the American Dental Association.

There are labels stating the opinion of the Surgeon General on most items.

The American Medical Association, the Better Business Bureau...the list goes on and on.

When you see these organizations and their applause for these items, you know they've been tested and tried and found true.

So why don't we trust the Word of God?

The actual God-breathed words of Scripture?

The promises of the Sovereign Lord and Savior of mankind?

He states, for the record, that Jesus is a firm rock to build upon. One that will not fail or fall, will not leave us wanting for anything.

Is He your cornerstone?
