Today's reading: Ezra 1-3

"But they had lost their genealogical records, so they were not allowed to serve as priests." Ezra 2:62 NLT

Records-documentation of past events.

It doesn't require my birth certificate to prove I am a child of God.

There is no publicly notarized document stating I was saved on an Easter Sunday in a little country church.

Only a few grainy pictures exist of the farm-pond baptism I took part in.

I've not been recorded on television leading millions in an altar call.

So how would I ever 'prove' my allegiance to Christ? That I'm His? That I'm a part of the family of God?

My only records exist in my heart.

Where I know things changed that Easter Sunday. Where I know, without a doubt, I have been adopted into God's family. Where I know the baptism I took part in was an effort on my part to follow after my Savior's example.
