A KIND AND GENTLE TEACHER
Today's reading:  Matthew 11-13

"Come to me all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am  humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light." Matthew 11:28-30 NLT

It's a verse I've heard since childhood. I've heard it preached. I've seen it on paintings, posters, Bible toes and such.

I've never, until this morning, noticed the part about Him being our humble and gentle teacher.

I like that.

You see, the school of hard knocks is a rough teacher.

Life is a mean teacher.

Experience is a very trying teacher.

But to know God will teach us, will instruct us, will show us how to live this life He has planned for us--that's assuring, that's encouraging, that's peace-filled!
