OH, HE IS MERCIFUL
Today's reading:  1 Thessalonians 4-5

"For God decided to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us."  1 Thessalonians 5:9 NLT

Isn't He?  Wonderful.
Wonderful, oh isn't He?

It's been years since that simple song was sung by our choir during a Christmas cantata--but the words came flooding back to my memory as I read today's verse.

He didn't give us what we deserved.

He didn't punish us as the law demanded for failure to live as He instructed.

He didn't turn His back on us because of all we'd done.

He has continued to love us.  Continued to bless us.  Continued to walk beside us.  Continued to direct us.  Continued to desire that we be in His presence.

Even the worst among us...that includes me, and I am so thankful!
