GILEAD'S BALM
Today's reading:  Psalm 140-142

"Let the godly strike me!  It will be a kindness!  If they reprove me, it is soothing medicine.  Don't let me refuse it."  Psalm 141:5 NLT

Now I'll admit I do not want to be sucker-punched or to be given a bloody nose by one of my fellow brothers or sisters in Christ.  No punches to the stomach.  No kicks to the shins.

I'll take constructive criticism, though.

I'll listen to advice as to what I'm doing wrong, what I've mis-spoken, how I might be understanding God's Word incorrectly.

If they love me, they'll reprove me.  If they are godly they will have prayed about what to say to me before the first word ever comes out of their mouth.  If they have the interests of the Kingdom in their hearts, they'll speak in love and truth.

If I love Christ, I'll listen.  I'll want to listen.
