AN ANONYMOUS TIP
Today's reading: Psalm 146-148
"Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, I tell myself." Psalm 146:1 NLT
The author of the 146th psalm is anonymous. No name is given credit for writing it. No one receives the honor of penning the words for the Lord.
But I know quite a bit about this fella.
First off, he knows the Lord deserves praise. He and I are a lot alike in that area.
Secondly, he repeats himself. Once again, it may be a distant relation of mine.
Thirdly, and this is where the similarities get personal, he has to remind himself--aloud.
I know the Lord should be praised. I know things happening here on earth are only temporary and He is not. I am well aware of the voices in my head attempting to distract my attention from worshipping my Savior. I have become accustomed to the fact that I sometimes have to jerk myself back into reality by talking to myself.
I appreciate this anonymous tip-giver. He's telling on himself--and he's reminding us of what we must do to give honor and glory and praise to the Lord.
