JOY
Today's reading:  Colossians 1-2

"May you be filled with joy..."  Colossians 1:11 NLT

I'm as much in awe about what God instructed the writers of the Bible to pen as I am about what He did not lead them to write.

Case in point, this verse.

Paul was not told to write...

May you be filled with ease.

May you be filled with happiness.

May you be filled with the abundance this world offers.

Paul was told, by the All-knowing God, to speak to our hearts about what matters--joy.

Paul was inspired to write of what could only come from God's hand--joy.

Paul was led to direct our hearts to what would take us lovingly through this world into heaven--joy.
