THE PROBLEM WITH ALONE

Today's reading: 1 Kings 19-22

"Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there. Then he went on alone into the desert, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. I have had enough, Lord, he said. Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors." 1 Kings 19:3-4 NLT

Why do we do it?

Why do we choose alone when God gives us a family of believers?

Why do we go off from the crowd when the crowd will be what will support us and push us back toward the Lord?

Why are we surprised that satan, the prowling lion, attacks us when we are away from our herd?

Find that trusted friend.

Call up that godly influence.

Schedule a visit with that person you know knows you.

Let a trusted group from your church in on your struggle.

Just don't go off by yourself, please!
