WEEP AND SIGH

Today's reading: Ezekiel 7-12

"He said to him, Walk through the streets of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of all those who weep and sigh because of the sins they see around them." Ezekiel 9:4 NLT

In this vision God has given Ezekiel, a heavenly assignment was given to mark the foreheads of everyone who was bothered by sin.

Bothered by their own sins.

Bothered by those they saw committed around them.

Bothered to the point at which they would cry over it.

Bothered to the extreme of it breaking their hearts.

It makes me wonder...

How many of us would be marked today?

Are we even disgusted by sin anymore?

Does the very thought of disobeying God bother us in the least?

Or have we come to just accept it? Tolerate it? Not give it a passing thought?

This morning, as I sit in my prayer chair, I'm asking God to bother me with sin. To open my eyes to what truly disgusts Him. To change my attitude in regards to what I okay, what I allow to entertain me, what I see as 'just another lifestyle', what I chalk up as being okay for them.

I want to be marked as one who weeps and sighs because of the sins I see around me.
