LEAVING THE ENEMY BEHIND
Today's reading:  Numbers 33-36

"...The people of Israel left defiantly, in full view of all the Egyptians."  Numbers 33:3 NLT

The Chosen Ones left in broad daylight, toting all their belongings (and some of their enemies') and headed out towards freedom.

I can see the Israelites, after 400 years of slavery, leaving with 'Promised Land or Bust' on their pack mules.

I can hear the ones in the two million plus group talking about what life was going to be like in the new land.  I can just hear the ladies discussing new milk and honey recipes they're anxious to try.

I can imagine that not a one of them looked back longingly--they'd had enough, they wanted no more, they'd left nothing but blood, sweat and tears in that land.

So, what about us?

We're called on a daily basis to throw off our shackles and step into freedom.

Some of us do it.  Some of us don't.

It's not easy.

It's not always pretty.

It's not something someone else can do for us.

Satan's watching you right now, leave him behind.  Step out of line and onto a new path.  Do what he's shamed you into not doing.  Do it in broad daylight.  Do it on a Monday, don't wait until the next Sunday rolls around.  Take the first step towards the abundant godly life God has promised you.  Determine you're going to do it, no matter the pain or the fears.

Leave your enemy in your dust!
