UNDER GOD
Today's reading: Ezekiel 13-18

"Then another message came to me from the Lord;..confront Jerusalem with her loathsome sins...When you were born, no one cared about you...But I came and saw you...I helped you thrive...You grew up and became a beautiful jewel...But you thought you could get along with out me...You used the lovely things I gave you to make shrines for idols, where you carried out your acts of prostitution..." Ezekiel 16:1-16 NLT

Do you see yourself in these verses, America?

Do you catch a glimpse of your past, your growth and your dependence upon your Savior, USA?

Do you realize that although Christ never walked on our paths or calmed the waves on any one of our millions of lakes, this land-from sea to shining sea-was created by and for God?

Do you, great nation, know that anything and everything made, set in place, given power or given audience has ONLY been given so to bring glory to God?

USA, you were once nothing and God allowed men of great faith in Him to grow us up, build us up, fill us up and lift us up among other nations...and now we use all that prestige and power and profit to prostitute ourselves before other nations.

We apologize, Lord, for using the beautiful things You have given us in this great land to make idols that distract us from worshipping You with our whole hearts.
