I WENT TO CHURCH
Today's reading: Jeremiah 6-8

"Do you think that because the Temple is here you will never suffer? Don't fool yourselves! Do you really think you can steal, murder, commit adultery, lie and worship Baal and all those other new gods of yours, and then come here and stand before me in my Temple and chance, We are safe!--only to go right back to all those evils again?" Jeremiah 7:8-10 NLT

I don't know what you think attending church does for you, but I want you to consider your reasons very carefully.

It is not just something to mark off your Christian checklist.

Or a nice addition to your gospel resume.

Or a 'get out of jail free card' for the week ahead.

Pew sitting is not a blessing attainer or a getter of all things godly.

If you aren't attending church in an effort to worship God's holiness, to be in God's presence and to hear God's word preached--then I want you to re-calculate your reasons.

If you aren't leaving each worship service changed, impacted, encouraged or convicted, ask God to re-direct your heart.
