COME AS YOU ARE
Today's reading:  Isaiah 34-39

"When King Hezekiah heard their report, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the Temple to pray." Isaiah 37:1 NLT

For a king to wear sackcloth is equivalent to someone today going without make-up.

It showed he was distraught. It showed he was repentant. It showed he was broken. It showed he needed God more than he needed the royalty his crown and robes afforded him.

Maybe it's time more of God's people came to church that way.

I'm not talking about the make-up...but the heart issues.

If more of us would come with hearts filled with sorrow over sin--what kind of service would we have?

If more of us would come empty from having poured ourselves out to God--what kind of service would we have?

If more of us would come humbly, instead of made-up and dressed-up--what kind of service would we have?

If more of us showed up raw, hearts pruned from time spent in His presence, at His feet, being corrected by our God--what kind of service would we have?

If more of us showed up as He wanted us to show up, just as we are--what kind of revival would begin in our hearts, in our churches, in our world?
