MICHAIAH
Today's reading:  2 Chronicles 16-20

Aaah, Michaiah, the great prophet of old.

Great, you say?  You've never heard of him?

Very little is said of him and his dealing with King Ahab and King Jehosaphat.

His prophetic advice was shunned by the kings who sought to know God's direction in a matter--for the life of me I don't understand it.

You see, Micaiah was a great man.  Oh, I don't know all the great things he did or said, but I know this about him:

"But Micaiah replied, As surely as the Lord lives, I will say only what my God tells me to say."  2 Chronicles 18:13 NLT

Take it from a gal who has a mouth problem, that's a huge statement!

Only a man of character and great faith could, or would, ever make such a commitment known to the public.  And then to attempt to live up to it?  Wow!

I mean, to say ONLY what God leads him to say?  Only?  Unbelievable.

No room for personal opinions.  No words of constructive criticism.  No advice.  No reactions that are not God given or God lead.

Admirable.  Honorable.  Meaningful.  Amazing.

I'll certainly be watching my mouth a little more closely today!
