EVEN SO
Today's reading:  Psalm 105-107

"Both we and our ancestors have sinned.  We have done wrong!  We have acted wickedly!  Our ancestors in Egypt were not impressed by the Lord's miracles.  They soon forgot his many acts of kindness to them.  Instead they rebelled against him at the Red Sea.  Even so, he saved them..."  Psalm 106:6-8 NLT

Sinned--disappointed God in any way, form or fashion?

Done wrong--went against His wishes and best for me?

Acted wickedly--in action or attitude?  Seen or unseen by another?

Not impressed with God's miracles--because they didn't look like what I'd prayed for, weren't spectacular enough?

Forgot all He's done--yesterday, today, five minutes ago?

Rebelled against Him--dug my feet in the ground, crossed my arms and yelled, 'No!', refused to budge?

Guilty.  As guilty as any of the Hebrew children standing on the banks of the Red Sea. Blameworthy of all listed and more.

Even so, it says with hope!  Even so, ringing with mercy!  Even so, resounding with love!  Even so, wrapped in abundant grace!

Even so, my Savior saved me!

In the total expanse of human life there is not a square inch of which the Christ, who alone is sovereign, does not declare, 'That is mine!'    -Abraham Kuyper
