THIS MORNING'S COMMUTE
Today's reading: Nehemiah 4-7

"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:10 NLT

I followed our town's street sweeper on my way to work today.

For a few blocks and one or two stop signs, I was the vehicle right behind him.

It was fun watching him maneuver around parked cars, get right up to the curbs with his whirling scrub brushes and leave a swept clean path for me right up my lumberyard parking spot.

It was almost like I had a personal escort on my way to work.

A chauffeur of sorts that cleared the path and provided me a clean slate on which to start the day.

A street sweeper!

God does that for me, too. Well, when I ask Him to.

He goes ahead of me.

He sweeps up, wipes away and cleanses me of any sins I present to Him.

He gifts me with a clean slate, of sorts, each day with the sunrise.

And He slows me down, by street sweepers and other means, to see all that He does.

What will He use to catch your attention today?
