MAKING OUR ENEMIES WORK FOR US
Today's reading: Joshua 8-10

"Let them live. But we will make them chop the wood and carry the water for our entire community." Joshua 9:21 NLT

Here's the back story: A community of warring neighbors secretly made an oath with the Israelites that ensured their safety. It was a trick that would be a burr in the Israelites saddle for a long time to come.

But instead of bemoaning the fact. Instead of backing down on their before-the-Lord made oath, they made the best of it.

They put their enemy to work for them.

Any way you can do the same?

When he hounds you, can it be your call to dig deeper into the Word?

When he hurls that temptation at you, can it be your reminder to spend a little more time on your knees?

When he brings up your forgiven past, might it be your clue to praise a little louder?

Beat the devil at his own game!
