LOSE NO TIME
Today's reading: 1 Samuel 25-27

"Abigail lost no time..." 1 Samuel 25:18 NLT

Abigail had to act fast in an effort to counter Nabal's ill-thought-out reaction to David's request.

She had to stand in the brink and save her family and servants.

She didn't have time to tele-conference with her Bible study group or send out a church prayer chain or take a quick poll on Facebook as to what it was she should do.

She had to act upon what she knew was right and what God was leading her--right then and right there with the information she had right in front of her.

There are times we get to prayerfully consider an issue before making a decision about it and then there are times we have to act quickly. Moments when time is of the essence.

It's in those times that a right relationship with God is absolutely necessary!

We've got to trust, in those moments, that He is in us and leading us.

But those times require that at all other times we are seeking Him out.

We don't want to have to quickly establish a relationship with God in the heat of the moment. We might not have, in those important times, the benefit of re-introducing ourselves to Him after a long season of not seeking Him out.

So we must always be prepared for those times. We must keep our relationship with God fresh, and new and vibrant. Daily. Hourly. Moment-by-moment.
