WE NEEDN'T ASK WHY
Today's reading:  Genesis 4-7

"Why are you so angry, the Lord asked him.  Why do you look so dejected?  You will be accepted if you respond in the right way.  But if you refuse to respond correctly, then watch out!  Sin is waiting to attack and destroy you, and you must subdue it."  Genesis 4:6-7 NLT

I don't know about you, so I'll speak on behalf of myself this morning.

Things don't always go my way.  It's not always a rose-lined path I walk.  Everyone does not respond to me in the manner in which I hope they would.  My plans are not regarded as 'gospel', nor my ideas jumped on like a slice of pie at Grandma's house.

And another simple fact?  Sometimes it's no one elses' fault but my own!

That's a hard one to swallow.  Blame is easier to place than conviction is to swallow--and deal with.

Sin, most days, cause me the majority of my problems.

How I feel is directly related to what I allow to take root in my heart.  How I respond ties in tightly to how close to fair I think things are going for me.  What I say correlates to what I'm allowing to fester in my soul.

Sin's the problem, people.

Oh, I don't know what the percentage might be, but let's all agree, for one day, that the majority of our problems are our problems--and our problems are linked to our sins!
