AS FOR ME
Today's reading:  Titus

"But as for you, promote the kind of living that reflects right teaching."  Titus 2:1 NLT

Paul counseled his young apprentice Titus on what was needed and what was not needed in the church.

He pointed out, in Chapter 1, the requirements for elders (deacons) and he gave watch signs for people claiming to know God but not really knowing Him.

In Chapter 2, Paul tells Titus to make it personal.

Take your eyes off them.

Live the life you know you are called to live.

Personally follow Christ.

Accept His rule.

God chose to place this section of Scripture in the book we now hold in our hands thousands of years later because He knew we'd struggle with the same issues.

He knew it would be easier to look around than down deep.

He knew blame is easier to place than conviction is to deal with.

He knew tearing others down is easier than re-working personal habits and attitudes.

'But as for you...', what is that speaking to you heart?
