THAT KIND OF RELATIONSHIP
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 1-4
"After this, David asked the Lord, Should I move back to Judah? And the Lord replied, Yes. Then David asked, What town should I go to? And the Lord replied, Hebron." 2 Samuel 2:1 NLT
David, referred to as a man after God's own heart, intrigues me.
His obedience.
His courage.
His all-in demeanor.
His accepting of personal blame.
His worship.
And...
The relationship he had with God.
An association that sought to honor God in all (he was entirely human, so we'll say--almost all) that he did.
Just this morning I read that he simply asked questions of the Lord.
Not in a doubting manner, but in a way that showed he truly sought to do what God wanted him to do.
I want that!
I want to seek God's opinion.
I want to ask God's permission.
I want to know God's will.
I want to know which way God wants me to turn.
I want to avoid what God desires that I avoid.
I want the kind of relationship that leans more to the side of asking His guidance than to always having to seek forgiveness.
