NOTHING I DESIRE

Today's reading: Proverbs 8-9

"For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies. Nothing you desire can be compared with it." Proverbs 8:11 NLT

If you've been on the church scene for any length of time, regardless of your denomination or music genre preference, you've probably heard the lyrics to this song...

Lord, You are more precious than silver;Lord, 

You are more costly than gold;Lord, 

You are more beautiful than diamonds;

And nothing I desire compares with You. 

This songwriter mimics the thoughts of Solomon as he asks us to seek wisdom above all else.

Prioritizing. Valuing. Ranking.

But not simply wisdom, or at least the kind that you gain from opening books, taking classes and obtaining degrees.

God's wisdom is what we need!

We need it for all we do.

Those who depend upon us need us to have it.

The world in which we live needs us to seek it and use it.

Let's spend some time seeking wisdom today in the form of a right, intimate and dependent relationship with the Lord.
