SEEMED
Today's reading: 2 Samuel 16-18

"Absalom followed Ahithophel's advice, just as David had done. For every word Ahithophel spoke seemed as wise as though it had come directly from the mouth of God." 2 Samuel 16:23 NLT

Seemed-to have appeared to the observation or understanding; to have given the impression of being.

Things are not always what they seem.

The smoothest, most eloquent talker can lie to you in the most grammatically correct words.

The prettiest smile doesn't make what's said true.

The largest backing doesn't make a wrong right, no matter how many people support it.

We must be so solidly grounded in the Word of God that we can spot a lie a mile off!

That means we have to spend time in it.

That means we have to do the hard stuff, like put aside hobbies in order to study more.

It may mean digging deeper than necessary just to understand.

It might entail following up on what the pastor said, just to make sure.

We cannot believe it just because it seems right, sounds pretty or is presented well!
