THIS YEAR
Today's reading:  Isaiah 1-6

"Stop putting your trust in mere humans.  They are as frail as breath.  How can they be of help to anyone?"  Isaiah 2:22 NLT

Spouses cannot read your mind.
Friends get distracted with many other things.
Doctors mis-diagnose.
Waitresses bring you the wrong sandwich.
Children embarrass the tar out of you.
Families squabble.
Neighbors don't have the common decency to put their trash in a safe place.
Heroes fall from their pedestals.
Cashiers charge you the wrong amount.
Judges don't see everything clearly.
Employers hand out pink slips.
Preachers don't shake your hand every Sunday.

As I enter this new year, I needed this reminder...God is the only one I can put all my hope and trust in.

Need I become a recluse and stay away from all people--tall and short?  Not at all, but I need to be very, very careful in whom I place my trust.

This year, I choose God!
