TROUBLES

Today's reading: 1 Thessalonians 1-3

"...But, of course, you know that such troubles are going to happen to us Christians." 1 Thessalonians 3:3 NLT

Believers, especially those living in the comfort, convenience and blessing of first world countries like our own, tend to forget that troubles are what we should expect in life.

Disappointments, inconveniences, storms, hard times and bad things.

Why?

Because this world is not our home.

It's never been meant to be.

Life is a series of days, months and years of traveling on foreign soils. 'Camping out' on our way home. Roughing it, if you think about it, before we get to heaven.

So let the disgruntled moments of your life remind you of where it is you're going, instead of allowing yourself to become perturbed, hateful and rude.

Let the hard to swallow times in life steel you for what's to come--no sorrow, no pain, no tears!
